Single-sided walls

A wall is one-sided liquidity placed as a range below or above the current price, a standing order that earns fees while it waits to be filled.

A bid wall is quote-only liquidity resting below price; an ask wall is token-only above it. Each earns swap fees on every trade that passes through it while it waits.

Bid vs. ask

  • Bid wall: single-sided liquidity below the current price. In token terms it's a standing buy order: as price falls into your range, your quote asset (SOL on Solana, ETH/USDC and friends on EVM) converts into the token. You're the bid.
  • Ask wall: single-sided liquidity above the current price. As price rises into your range, your token sells off into the quote asset. You're the offer.

Either way you only deposit one asset, and you earn swap fees on every trade that passes through your range while the wall stands.

Why it needs a concentrated pool

Walls require a model that lets you place liquidity over a specific price range with only one token: Orca CLMM, Raydium CLMM, Meteora DLMM, Uniswap v3/v4 on the EVM chains, or PancakeSwap v3 and Infinity on BNB Chain. On a constant-product pool the AMM always wants both sides at a fixed ratio, so a true one-sided position is impossible. The hub disables the action there and explains why in a tooltip.
